Westray Tackett is a composer and musician from Louisville, Ky. He began playing classical guitar at six years old and accumulated interest in piano shortly thereafter. While in school, Westray played in several core bands, composed music for theatre, and acquired his bachelor’s in music composition from Rhodes College. More recently, Westray writes music for film, tv, and video games. His music has been published by networks including ABC, Nickelodeon, Showtime, and Universal. While composing remains an integral part of his work, Westray has a passion for sharing music through teaching and developing new approaches to music education. As a teaching artist at Young Musicians Foundation, Westray continues to spread his enthusiasm for music and expand creative arts education in Los Angeles.
