Scholarship Competition
About
The YMF Scholarship Competition has granted multiple cash awards to talented young musicians, ages 9-25, each of the last 54 years. As private music instruction continues to become more and more expensive, YMF is one of the few places to which talented young musicians can apply for financial assistance. Selected applicants can receive awards from $500-$2,500 to use for private music instruction, music camp/school tuition or festival attendance and may be asked to perform at various YMF functions or public recitals. The Scholarship Program for the 2011 – 2012 year has concluded, but interested applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements listed below and to apply next year. Applications will be available in Spring of 2012.
Eligibility
All applicants must demonstrate exceptional talent and financial need, and must be residents of Southern California. Instrumentalists & pianists may apply through the completion of their senior year of high school. Vocalists must be between the ages of 12 – 26.
