Composition Competition

Congratulations to our 2012 Chamber Music Composition Competition winners!  All applicants will receive email follow-up from YMF next week.

After a successful inaugural season, the Young Musicians Foundation is proud to once again offer young Southern California composers a chance to compete in its Chamber Music Composition Competition.  The winner of this year’s competition will be awarded $500 and have the composition performed during our Chamber Music Series Recitals.

 

 

Composition Requirements

  • 6-8 minutes in length
  • Single movement
  • Piano trio instrumentation
  • Written in the last two years
  • Has not yet been performed

Application Requirements

  • Applicants must be residents of Southern California between the ages of  12 through 18 (senior year of high school).
  • Each application must include a completed application form, four (4) copies of the composition, proof-of-age documentation, and a $20 application fee.
  • Proof-of-age documentation may consist of a photocopy of a driver license, birth certificate, or passport.

    Submit $20 application fee via Paypal.
  2. Mail four (4) copies of the composition, as well as proof-of-age documentation, to the address below.

Application Deadline

Compositions must be received by the YMF office by Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 4 pm (not a postmarked date).
