Composition Competition

After a successful inaugural season, the Young Musicians Foundation is proud to once again offer young Southern California composers a chance to compete in its Chamber Music Composition Competition. The winner of this year’s competition will be awarded $500 and have the composition performed during our Chamber Music Series Recitals.
Composition Requirements
- 6-8 minutes in length
- Single movement
- Piano trio instrumentation
- Written in the last two years
- Has not yet been performed
Application Requirements
- Applicants must be residents of Southern California between the ages of 12 through 18 (senior year of high school).
- Each application must include a completed application form, four (4) copies of the composition, proof-of-age documentation, and a $20 application fee.
- Proof-of-age documentation may consist of a photocopy of a driver license, birth certificate, or passport.

Application Deadline
Compositions must be received by the YMF office by Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 4 pm (not a postmarked date).
