Jake Sucher is a Los Angeles based guitarist and educator. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts Herb Albert School of Music on May 16th, 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies.
As a composer, Jake has received many honors. His compositions for film have been featured two years in a row at the CalArts film showcase at REDCAT in downtown Los Angeles. In the summer 2015 Jake was invited to participate in an art residency at No Lugar Contemporary Art in Quito, Ecuador where he collaborated with artists from around the world and premiered original sound design. As a performer, Jake has had the opportunity to record his own composition for jazz quartet at Capitol Records for the 2014 CalArts Jazz CD. He also tours and records regularly with Los Angeles-based groups including Bird Concerns, Snow Nerds, and A Horse A Spoon A Bucket.
As a teacher he has worked on the faculties of various educational organizations including West Coast Music Academy, Academy of Technology Art and Music, and Gand Camp Music Tech. He currently works with Young Musicians Foundation teaching classroom guitar at schools throughout Los Angeles, and maintains a studio of private guitar students.
